Without a doubt, by unfortunate circumstances of blind destiny, the Armenian Nation today lives through a continuous chain of disastrous mishaps. The latest – hopefully, the last – of these dark episodes conflagrating at the Surmalu Trade Center, as a massive explosion in the heart of Yerevan — the sacred Capital City of Armenians worldwide, because of which innocent citizens were killed and injured and missing persons were recorded.
The Armenian Relief Society expresses its solidarity and deepest condolences to the victims’ families and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured and strength, courage, and patience to our compatriots.
Over the millennia of our existence, as a creative, constructive Nation rooted in our highlands, our unique language, culture, and faith, often martyred in unequal battles in the name of those tenets, today we stand on the edge of a menacing future. At this moment of crisis, we believe that the solution to our unresolved issues will not come from outside but from our people. It is the Armenian Nation that will work to ensure its recovery and unfettered progress toward a bright future.
In the shadow of these dark days, as in past days of joy and sorrow, born and raised in the very bosom of the Armenian people, the Armenian Relief Society is always steadfast to its humanitarian Oath, “With the People, For the People” has been, and shall always be the intrepid guardian of our people’s spiritual and physical fortresses. As a devoted mother, it shares the pain of its people, mixing its tears of sorrow with those of the families and friends of those martyred in the ongoing struggle for our Nation’s right to live free and secure across its Patrimony. May the Lord grant them eternal life, as they shall have in a grateful Nation’s ever United Hearts.

ՑԱՒԱԿԻՑ ԽՈՀԵՐՈՎ
Կասկածէ վեր է, թէ նախախնամութեան անիմանալի իրադրութեամբ, հայ ժողովուրդը այսօր կապրի մահաբոյր աղէտներու զիրար յաջորդող երկար շարան մը: Այդ մթամած շարքէն, գէթ այժմ, վերջինը աշխարհացրիւ հայութեան քաղաքամայր Երեւանի ալեկոծ սրտին մէջ՝ Սուրմալուի առեւտրական կեդրոնի անսպասելի պայթումն էր, որուն պատճառով զոհուեցան եւ վիրաւորուեցան անմեղ քաղաքացիներ, նաեւ արձանագրուեցան անհատ կորսուածներ:
Հայ Օգնութեան Միութիւնը իր զօրակցութիւնն ու խորազգաց ցաւակցութիւնները կը յայտնէ զոհուածներու ընտանիքներուն, շուտափոյթ ապաքինում կը մաղթէ վիրաւորներուն եւ ուժ, կորով ու համբերութիւն մեր հայրենակիցներուն:
Մեր հազարամեակներ բոլորած գոյութեան ընթացքին, որպէս ստեղծագործ, շինարար ազգ, կառչած իր լեռնաշխարհին, լեզուին, մշակոյթին ու հաւատքին, յաճախ անհաւասար մարտերու մէջ մարտիրոսացած ի խնդիր այդ արժէքներու պահպանման ու գոյատեւման, այսօր կանգնած ենք անորոշ ապագայի մը եզրին: Այս ճգնաժամային պահուն, կը հաւատանք որ մեր անլոյծ թուող հարցերուն լուծումը պիտի չգայ դուրսէն այլ՝ պիտի գայ մեր իսկ ժողովուրդէն, միահաւաք ու միակամ Հայ Ազգն է որ պիտի լծուի աշխատանքի ապահովելու համար իր վերականգնումն ու անկաշկանդ յառաջխաղացքը դէպի լուսաւոր ապագայ:
Ներկայ մութ օրերու ընթացքին, ինչպէս անցեալի լաւ ու վատ ժամանակներուն, Հայ ժողովուրդի հարազատ ծոցէն ծնած ու սնած Հայ Օգնութեան Միութիւնը, հաւատարիմ իր մարդասիրական համամարդկային Ուխտին, Ժողովուրդիս Հետ, Ժողովուրդիս Համար, եղած է ու կը մնայ Հայ ժողովուրդի հոգեկան արժէքներու պարիսպներուն ժրաջան եւ միշտ արթուն պահակը: Որպէս գթառատ մայր, ան կը բաժնէ իր հարազատներուն ցաւն ու սուգը միաձուլելով իր արտասուքն ու վիշտը բոլոր մերօրեայ զոհերու հարազատներուն արտասուքին ու վիշտին հետ:
