On November 5, 2009, ARS, Inc. Chairperson Vicky Marashlian and Executive Director of ARS Central offices, Jirair Beugekian, accompanied by the Chairperson of the Artsakh ARS regional executive, Margarita Taranian and ARF Artsakh Central Committee Representative, Davit Ishkhanian, paid a visit to the Prime Minister of Nagorno Karabagh Republic, Arayik Harutiunian. The NKR Minister of Education and Science, Vladik Khachatrian was also present at this meeting.

The main theme of the meeting was the status of the 11 ARS “Soseh” Kindergartens in Artsakh, discussing the possibilities of joint efforts to secure the necessary means for their continuing service to their communities. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Education were brought up to date on the various ARS educational, health and humanitarian programs presently being implemented in Artsakh. There was also discussion on the necessity of increased involvement of women in the social sphere of the Republic, and ARS expectations to that end.
In the afternoon of the same day, the ARS, Inc. Chairperson and the Executive Director of ARS Central offices, accompanied by the Chairperson of the Artsakh ARS regional executive, paid a visit to the NKR Health Minister, Gevorg Gevorgian. The minister confirmed the receipt of the hospital beds recently shipped to the Health Ministry by the ARS, expressing his appreciation in view of ARS efforts to coordinate its activities with the Ministry. Future programs were discussed in this sphere and the ARS representatives repeated their commitment to conduct their activities along priorities set by the Ministry.
The next day, on November 6, the ARS delegation attended the opening ceremonies of the Hadrut region’s Taghlar village ARS “Soseh” Kindergarten’s renovated building. In use for almost a decade, this kindergarten building was renovated towards the end of this summer by the directives of the NKR President, Bago Sahakian. The kindergarten has 65 pupils divided in three age groups. The Hadrut administration chief, present at the opening ceremonies, promised to renovate soon the ARS “Soseh” kindergarten of the village of Togh, as well.
